This work includes the material of medical procedures (scans and x-rays), journaling, acts of stitching, tearing, repetitive tying, ripping fabric and layering in the attempt to mark internal processes and experiences of pain. I am interested in what becomes unreadable and alien in the process of imaging my womb, in how diagnosis and confusion around treatment options have to be confronted through different means of healing. I consider my artistic practice as a process of tracing, projecting and screening, seeking transformation in living with pain.
